Tyler Butler recently visited Tuscany Nokomis, a charming Italian restaurant known for its authentic flavors and welcoming atmosphere. During his visit, Tyler had the opportunity to meet Chef Jimmy, an award-winning chef celebrated locally for his innovative and delicious Italian dishes. The experience began with a standout appetizer, the Tuna and Apple Tartare. This unique dish combines sashimi-grade tuna with fresh, crisp apples, tossed in a tangy lemon vinaigrette with capers and scallions. Served alongside toasted garlic and olive oil crostini, the tartare offers a fresh, healthy, and flavorful start to the meal, perfectly blending nutrition and taste.

Moving on to classic Italian comfort food, Chef Jimmy prepared two pasta dishes that truly showcased his culinary expertise. The first was Pasta Carbonara, featuring fettuccine coated in a rich bacon sauce with sweet peas and finished with a luscious egg yolk. This dish honors traditional Italian cooking while delivering a creamy, satisfying flavor. The second pasta, Pennet Salciche, consists of penne pasta served in a robust tomato sauce with mushrooms and Italian sausage, topped with freshly grated Parmesan and fragrant basil. Both dishes provided Tyler with a delicious taste of Italy’s home-style cuisine.

No visit to Tuscany Nokomis would be complete without sampling their famous Quattro Stagioni pizza, and Tyler was able to watch Chef Judy prepare this classic. The pizza, meaning “Four Seasons,” is divided into four sections, each featuring popular Italian ingredients such as mushrooms, olives, and artichokes, and finished with prosciutto after baking. A sprinkle of fresh Parmesan adds the perfect finishing touch, making it one of the most popular pizzas in Italy and a must-try at Tuscany Nokomis.

 

Tyler also learned about the restaurant’s excellent dining specials, including early bird deals and happy hour available seven days a week, plus half-off pizzas every Tuesday. Overall, Tyler’s visit to Tuscany Nokomis was a delightful journey through authentic Italian cuisine, served with warmth and flair, making it a top dining destination in Nokomis.
